My "Major" Decision

"Blood gushing out of a brain in room 302, emergency C-section in room 304, compound fracture in 305"-this all sounds very interesting to me! I have wanted to be a nurse for all of my life. My mother is a nurse, and I have several other family members who are in the medical field; however, that is not the basis for my decision in my major of nursing. I do not mind the site of blood...at all. In fact, when people try to gross me out with pictures of compound fractures, it interests me, and I want to see more! For these reasons, I would like to become a nurse. I think it would be amazing to work in the delivery room and to help in the process of bringing a wonderful new life into the world. What an amazing miracle that is! I also think it would be fascinating to work in the ER! All of the different scenarios would be packed full of excitement! Different cases every night!!! I also think it would be neat to become a helicopter nurse...not for full time probably, but just to try it out! Oh and then there is travel nursing which sounds terrific too! Because nutrition interests me, I have also considered minoring in that. Something else I thought would be interesting is to go on mission trips once I earn my degree! I might also want to go further than nursing, but for right now I will just start with nursing. I am not sure what the future holds, but I anticipate the adventures that are to come!

  1. The aesthetics of this blog is amazing. The deep red color template, the circular cell-like background, the white text -- you can really visualize your identity here.

  2. I like how passionate you are about your major. Its hard to come by people who go into a career path they truly love and I think its great you not only found something you care so much about, but that you are pursuing it as well!

  5. I love how you come off as such a sweet, innocent girl in class and then read this and see that you find compound fractures interesting. That's so cool, I wish I had a passion for the medical field like you do, I just hate blood. Follow your dreams and I can't wait to read your next blog!
